Natural & Elegant Wedding Photography | Midelney Manor

Elegant wedding photography to inspire couples to consider the enduring beauty of the natural and the hand-made as they plan their wedding as seen on Love My Dress.

Romantic, wild, elegant – this fine art editorial is shot on various film stocks, all in natural light and candlelight. It celebrates English history and weather, it champions the seasonal and foraged, and it showcases bespoke UK designers.

Captured on film deep in the Somerset countryside, this bridal inspiration features a striking redhead bride, wild seasonal florals, botanical elements and gold accents. Our table styling and colour palette of muted greens, earthy browns and blush, creams and gold would equally suit an Autumn wedding as a Spring one for a classic, versatile look. We wanted to achieve a wild, natural, even rustic look, without sacrificing taste and elegance.

Midelney Manor Estate – owned by the same family since it was built in the 16th century – hosts weddings in its private rooms and lovely landscaped gardens, and is now opening its wonderful rustic barn for receptions. Featuring local stone, Victorian brickwork and exposed worn timber the barn is a fantastically earthy backdrop.

These warm, neutral tones are reflected in the roses, peonies, wildflowers and cow parsley – all grown, gathered and arranged by Grace Alexander who is launching her own range of seeds later this season. The weather delivered plenty of rain, in true English style, which helped to give a more muted palette on Fujifilm and only added to this elegant wedding photography.

Our bride wears simple, elegant bespoke separates handmade in Devon just for us; a boxy lace top over a raw silk champagne corset, and an ivory tulle over grey-green organza skirt. De Winton Paper Co. designed the stationery for us, incorporating her distinctive modern botanical watercolours, and has since added this to her 2017 collection. We were spoilt for UK designer talent, with vintage veils and hand-crafted accessories, hand-dyed silks, and gorgeous shoes.
